Practical information

Practical information for participants

The staff training in Tartu will be held at the Estonian University of Life Sciences

To reach the campus

  • walk for 25 minutes from the city centre
  • take bus number 6  - you can pay on the bus with your bank card or you can buy a transportation card for both Tallinn and Tartu when you're in Tallinn, load money on it and use it in both cities. The daily cap for a daily ticket in Tartu is 3.75 (they won't charge you after you reach this amount). The ride from the city centre to the campus is about 10 minutes.
  • share a Bolt taxi with colleagues. Download the Bolt application and use it throughout your stay.

Social activities

  • Reception on Wednesday will be held at Ülikooli kohvik, located right next to the University of Tartu main building. It's about a 10 minute walk away from the furthest of our suggested hotels.
  • Gala dinner on Thursday will be held at Vilde ja vine, located very close to all the hotels as well.

What to bring?

  • Check the weather right before coming because June is very unpredictable, the temperature can vary from +10 to +25 degrees. Pack accordingly.
  • Comfortable clothes and shoes that you're not afraid to get dirty during the tree-planting on Wednesday.
  • Reusable water bottle that you can refill from the tap all over Estonia.
  • Swimsuit - most hotels have a sauna and spa area where you're supposed to wear a swimsuit and you might also want to go for a swim outdoors while you're here, so bring it.
